Zone 3
Winter Gardening
This is where I share what's happening in my indoor winter garden. Herbs under lights, the sprouts that surprise me, and the small green moments that make the cold months feel a little more alive one plant pot at a time.

In the window
I've got a window with a south west exposure, but I get better results if I add a grow light as well. Under the lights I have:
-
Basil, parsley, thyme, dill, Green onions
-
A few trial seeds, lettuce, for low-light testing
-
Some special seeds I ordered for an extra treat this winter
Keeping it simple
-
A small grow light and a sunny window
-
Small low demand plants
-
Low-light-friendly herbs and greens
-
Light watering to avoid root rot

Winter Gardening + Planning
Taking advantage of winter months to plan the next season's garden is a method I use every year to get through the winter. Indoor gardening pairs naturally with winter planning — practicing seed-starting, growing some pre season treats, getting transplants ready for spring. "Thrive - The one 3 Garden Guidebook" was created to support us, offering planning pages, guidance, and inspiration tailored for Zone 3 gardeners.
Join me as I plan, dream, and start a few hopeful seeds in the window this winter.
